How Many Owls? I’ve not seen any owls at The Brambles. However, I have heard tawny owls calling in the evening and at night. They twit twoo and screech. Sometimes they are close by and sometimes it’s a faint sound in the distance. Maybe one evening I will spot one :) With this in mind I thought I’d create a picture with owls in. I know it’s daylight in my picture and a lot of owls come out at night, but these ones made an exception! How many owls can you find in the picture? How many other birds, animals…

Summer in the Garden Hello, and welcome to the July edition of “The Brambles Journal” – Summer in the Garden. This edition I’ve decided on an updated style. I hope you like :) I thought the sunflowers needed to be shared in the largest size I could! The sunflowers looked amazing, and I grew from seed Little Leo’s and Giants, and they certainly brightened up the garden. Summer was a busy time in the garden. Lots of flowers, young birds and busy parent birds. The squirrels, of course, were frequent visitors too :) I am a little constrained for time at…

Winter in the Garden Hello, and welcome to the new style journal for The Brambles. I’m really excited by this new magazine format. It’s been in my head for so long, and now finally it’s here :) I started working on the style and the best way to share back in December last year. Progress has been a little slower than I hoped as I came down with the cough/cold thing that’s been circulating. Finally getting rid of it now! January has been busy in the garden, with lots of visits from hungry birds. They are always such a pleasure to…
