Cheeky Grey Squirrel

Hi :) As September came to a close I spotted a cheeky grey squirrel tucking into the sunflower seeds. I’ve had this feeder since the summer and it didn’t take them long to work out the best ways of getting the seed from it! I don’t think the greenfinches are overly impressed by them, they don’t get in the queue and wait their turn! Out of all the birds the greenfinches use it most. Although the collard doves often manage to use it too. Sometimes a pair of them will be on it together!

It’s a short one for last week and it’s likely my journal pages will continue to be shorter. It just depends what is going on in the garden.

  1. Those Squirrels can get anywhere especially if there a treats to be had, I once watched a programme on them they are so crafty. I have not seen one Admiral butterfly this year you are very lucky where you are, it must be lovely to see the blackbirds back I don’t think we have seen any for ages, plenty of sparrows here and we did spot a chaffinch on the hedge one day I even managed to get some photos of him. I hope your journals don’t get too short as I would miss them very much.xx:)

  2. Hi Mary, yes they certainly are a crafty lot! It’s great seeing the blackbirds, they are such characters :) Still no sparrows for us. I see them in the area but not in the garden. It’s really strange. Maybe I need to see if they have a favourite type of bush they like, or something like that! The journals are likely to be 1 double A5 as I’m not out taking so many pictures. I’ll still be blogging :)
